You'd think six years is enough time to come up with a big, spectacular follow up to one of the biggest surprise hits of the 80s. Well, after racking their brains the guys at (blog post) WB collectively decided "do it in New York!" (blog) was the best option, giving us Gremlins 2: The New Batch. I's flashy, it's visually impressive, and it's got Gremlins jokes galore... but does it live up to the original?

Released five years after the original C.H.U.D., Bud the C.H.U.D. was originally meant for a theatrical release but instead went straight to VHS. None of the original writers, producers, actors, or concepts made it into the sequel. So how is it a sequel you ask? It says C.H.U.D. 2, doesn't it? That's about it. (blog) Anyhow, is there more to this oddly out of sci-fi movie reviews place zombie flick than it's predecessor.. or should we be glad this film never got to see the silver screen?
